Paul Huish

Chief Executive Officer | Founder

Paul founded DroneHive in 2016 to fill the need that corporations have for professional drone expert services. He has more than a dozen years of experience in resource management in technical contract labour and staff augmentation in multinational corporations, specifically within heavily regulated industries. At DroneHive, he is responsible for company strategy, business development, and oversees flight operations.

Prior to founding DroneHive, Paul helped build a global resource management firm supporting the highly-regulated drug and medical device manufacturing companies. In his eight years at Validant, he helped the company grow from a start-up to more than $100 million in annual revenue. He is an expert at helping clients manage resources and create jobs without a long-term commitment during periods of uncertain growth.

Paul holds a B.S. degree in Finance from Lehigh University and started his career as a financial analyst on Wall Street. He is a certified remote pilot and spends his free time with his wife and children enjoying the outdoors.

Prior to transitioning into the UAV industry, Peter ran a consulting research and engineering practice. His focus was to develop and deploy innovative geophysical field instrumentation at remote sites to monitor, detect and forecast satellite communications disturbances caused by the ionosphere. He has designed wearable mobility aid prototypes for the blind, patient tuning systems for breathing pacemakers and other neurostimulator applications.

Sterling Roberts

Flight Operations Manager

Sterling Roberts is a drone aficionado with more than five years of experience in the industry. Having a background in geology and environmental science, Sterling used drones to study ore deposits and the environmental remediation of Utah’s lakes and tributaries. He entered into the commercial drone space at Loveland Innovations, which developed drone software for property inspections and analytics platforms. He specializes in product development, scaling businesses and process innovation through drones. At DroneHive, he is responsible for flight operations.

Sterling has a B.S. in Environmental Science from Utah Valley University. In his downtime, he is the quintessential Utah man. He loves snowboarding, camping, target shooting, mountain biking and DIY projects, most recently rebuilding a 1979 pop up camper with his wife.
